Community rules
This is a friendly place to talk about games. Keep it that way:
- Be kind. No harassment, hate speech, slurs or personal attacks.
- No spam. Self-promo is fine in moderation and in the right board.
- Keep it safe for work. No NSFW, gore or shock content.
- Respect early access. Don't leak builds or keys you were given privately.
- Report bugs, don't exploit them in shared or multiplayer playtests.
Moderators may edit or remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules. By using the site you agree to them.
Buying games
- What you buy. A licence to play the game on Windows through the Zirtola Launcher, tied to your Zirtola account, with every update to the base game. We'll keep adding new machines to the base game at no extra cost. A few especially detailed machines may come later as optional paid add-ons.
- Your PCs. Your licence moves with you: play on one PC at a time, and switch to another whenever you like by deactivating the old one (from the launcher or your account page). Deactivating is free. If you switch more than 3 times in 30 days, our support team will move it for you. See playing on more than one computer.
- Offline play. The game checks your licence when it starts. If you’re offline it keeps working for a few days on its last check, then needs to go online once.
- Refunds. If something's wrong, contact us within 7 days of purchase for a refund. A refunded game is removed from your library.
- Payment. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices include or add sales tax/VAT as shown at checkout.
- Game keys. A key can be redeemed once, onto one account. Don’t share or sell keys; shared keys can be revoked.
Buying FAQ
What does early access mean? You’re buying a game that is still being made. It’s playable, but it isn’t finished: some features aren’t in yet, you’ll find bugs and rough edges, and things can change (or be reworked) as we build it. Buy it if you’d enjoy it as it is today, not only for what we plan to add.
Is there more to come? Yes, a lot more. We’re adding to the game all the time: the changelog on the game’s page lists what each update brought, the devlogs show what we’re working on, and the forum is where you tell us what you want next.
Do I have to pay for updates? No. Every base-game update is included, and the launcher installs them for you. A few especially detailed machines may come later as optional paid add-ons; we’ll always say so clearly before you buy them.
Will my save keep working? We try hard to keep saves working between updates, but while the game is in early access a big change can occasionally mean starting a new save. We’ll say so in the changelog when it happens.
Do I get future machines? Yes. We’ll keep adding new machines to the base game at no extra cost, along with free updates. A few especially detailed machines may come later as optional paid add-ons; we’ll always say clearly before you buy what’s included.
Can I play on more than one computer? Yes. Your licence plays on one PC at a time, and you can move it between your computers whenever you like:
- On the PC you want to play on, sign in to the Zirtola Launcher and press Play.
- The launcher shows which PC has the game and offers Deactivate and play here. Confirm, and you’re playing.
Deactivating is free. If you switch more than 3 times in 30 days, our support team will move it for you.
I got a new PC. What do I do?
- Install the Zirtola Launcher on the new PC (what to expect when you install) and sign in with the same account.
- Install the game and press Play.
- Choose Deactivate and play here. The old PC stops playing that game and the new one takes over.
My old PC died or was stolen. How do I move my game? You don’t need the old PC at all:
- In any browser, sign in on zirtola.com and open Settings → My games & keys.
- Under Active devices, click Deactivate next to the old PC.
- Sign in to the launcher on your new PC and press Play.
The old PC stops playing the next time it checks in (or within a few days if it’s offline), so a stolen PC can’t keep your game.
Where’s my receipt? We email it after payment; all orders are also under Settings → Orders.
Windows showed a security notice when I ran the installer. Is that normal? Yes. Windows SmartScreen warns about software from publishers it hasn’t seen many downloads from yet, and we’re a new studio. What to expect when you install shows each screen, explains why it appears and how to check your download. We will never ask you to turn off Windows security or your antivirus.
